He came....Santa came

The boys slept till 8...a good side effect of no one feeling well :)

First Stop...their tree. The look on Corbin's face is priceless.
We also both had camera's in our hands at this point and realized we were making them dizzy as to where to look...Todd took over from here

STOCKINGS
Of course, their BIG gifts couldn't wait.
Connor was a 700 piece Lego set.
He was so excited that "Santa got his list"

Corbin just kept saying "Oh....My....Goodness"
Not sure why, but he felt the need to pick up the box and try to carry it

After that, it was just a free for all

This was the scene for the rest of the day
Todd or I trying to read, assemble, explain how all these things work...
and the boys on a pure adrenaline rush

A HUGE THANK YOU..to everyone for all the generous gifts and cards.
The boys thought today was "The coolest day ever"

Our Patient

*Yes, drugs are good!!*

As everyone in our family, friends, church, workplace(s), Face book is aware..
Todd was scheduled for an outpatient surgery last Tuesday.

The Dr explained that it could be as quick as 5 minutes or as long as an hour procedure.
The

Ureteroscopic Kidney Stone Removal

Procedure took 45 minutes.
The doctor showed me the bb size stone that would have never have passed naturally, but since it was stuck at the bottom of the tube connecting his kidney to his bladder and had to be cut out. The Dr also explained that he had to put a stint in to keep that opening clear, and that the stint will be VERY uncomfortable and he will be well aware that it is there until it is removed, so you can imagine how uncomfortable that can be

Todd woke up from Anesthesia around 3:30.
It was decided shortly after 5 pm to admit him to manage the pain. Upon arriving in his room at 6:30 he got a morphine shot and finally was able to relax
I went home to get the kids to bed, and make plans for them to go to s friends house so I could go back to the hospital...they do not allow kids under age 14 in the hospital during flu season.

He came home Saturday.
The pain / un-comfortableness is still always there and will be until the stint is removed

JAN 4th

He went to WORK Tuesday, saw all of his CO-WORKERS

Who he also updated on his procedure and follow up.

He already had vacation scheduled until JAN 4TH which actually worked out perfect in retrospect. So until then he will just rest and try to relax, while I run around and get everything ready for Christmas. Shopping, wrapping, parties, cards, baking, babysitting....

Thank You to all of you that have CALLED, TEXTED, E- MAILED to check on him.

The blog will now go back to Auto-Pilot mode until after Christmas~KYLE

Visitors

Now maybe because we live in a small town
And myabe because it's winter/ cold
And maybe because elephants have flat feet
Whatever the reason my kids completely and utterly spaz out when we have company
Like...
Uncle Sean

It's almost like you can hear them chanting in unison
"Unle Sean is here, Uncle Sean is here"

A monkey on stage

Tuesday night was Connor's Christmas Program at school
He had talked for the last two weeks about how excited he was to be singing up on stage
So as I ran around like a mad woman trying to get everyone out the door, I asked Todd to take pictures of Connor all dressed up.

Ok, not bad...guess he had an itch
or the excitement was too much

whatever it was, he had 'Jazz Hands' to go with it

Whew...much better

Aww...so nice
Here we go...
and some more
Wait...what's that way up high
Rudolph flying by
Uh- oh, we've been spotted

Yes, from here until the end of the show (at least another 4 songs) he proceeded to give us the Thumbs Up signal after every song, and would not put them down until we gave him the thumbs up back

That's our boy...always thinking of others and ensuring they are enjoying themselves

Santa at the firestation

The second Saturday of December Santa visits the town Fire Station
He parks his reindeer in the board room and gets down to business

This is the 3rd time Corbin has seen Santa this December
and
the 1st time he has gotten this close

Well one out of three looking at the camera is good right?

Flag Football

HA. We have been using the little point and shoot so much we forgot that the 'good camera' still had pics on it.

Here are some pics from Corbin's flag football;

Think he has the "please stop taking pics mom" stare perfected yet?

What do I want for Christmas/Birthday

Did you know that Christmas and my birthday are just a mere 4 days apart?
What? You want to know what I would like?

Why of course I will tell you...
I'm so glad you asked.

Ummmmmmm

I want.....
hmmmm

I would like.........
errrrrrr

Well for a start let's look back on last years list and go from there
http://twolittlemonkeysblog.blogspot.com/2008/12/i-made-list-too.html

A diamond snowflake pendant-- still on the lookout for this one. I am being picky! Then again Connor had a 'shopping night' at school and there was one for $2.....*fingers crossed*

A new cell phone-- I actually got this and now even though it is only a few months old, it is already really really old.

A nice, but not very big nativity set- Kind of like the Dollar Store one we have. Heck, if the Hulk and Iron Man come back this year...it's a keeper ;)

The Twilight series of Books- I didn't get these..partly because the movies are already coming out and because I looked in the mirror and realized I am 29 ;) and not 14

A book reading light- I actually got one of these..and promptly broke it...so yes, I would still like one. Todd would like that it be small and not a spotlight...I guess he actually wants to sleep

A leopard print ear warmer- still on the lookout for one of these..but I think I missed my window on this one. Leopard is in for a year then out for 2 or 3.

Perfume from Victoria Secret- LOVE this stuff... Can you ever have too much perfume? Wear? YES!!! Have? NO way ;)

Candles- Can always use these...I just have to remember to actually blow them out :)

The hallmark singing snowmen, this years snowman book- DUH!! Of course I got these, unfortunately I think last year was the last for these. So much to Todd's dismay there will be no addition to the 7 singing snowmen we currently own that the kids insist on making sing..at every chance they get

Popcorn from Dale and Thomas-always a solid choice-- Hi it's food :)

Gift certificates-Not sure I should be allowed these anymore...see, I lost one and I have yet to use another sooooo maybe ones just for Todd and I will reap the benefits :) (his birthday and Christmas are 5 days apart :)

COACH purse- I scored this on my girls trip after Christmas last year and still am carrying it! Todd is in shock, I think this is the longest I have gone carrying the same bag

New Cookware- Just ordered these on Black Friday...any day now I can throw away Todd's first set he owned...

A house cleaner- I think I have a better chance of being stuck by lightening

Potty Trained 2 yr old- WHoooo Hooooo this one was the best gift of all!!

Whew...
So this year...

Wait what was the question? Oh never mind, what do you want?

MerryChristNewYeValentiStPatEast4thHallowThansMerryChrist

I swear it was just Halloween and now my boys are on Day 2 of their Advent Calendar. Yes, the little doors with a piece of chocolate behind each one.

The tree is up, the house is decorated inside and out
Family picture taken
5 gifts for the boys bought

Ummmm Yep that's as far as I am...

Still need : ( OCD list maker, remember? :)
1 Santa gift
Stocking stuffers
Make Family gifts
Send out family gifts
Take Christmas Card photo
Send out Christmas cards....er Happy New Year Cards (Ah ha, this buys me a week :)
Teachers gifts
Various gift exchange gifts
A couple birthday gifts

and Baking.

Dag nab it, in the last week I have been invited/ informed I was attending, at least 4 cookie exchanges- each requiring at least 2 dozen cookies no less.

Never mind that I have HORRIBLE luck baking cookies...but I can't bring that many cookies into this house and still walk out of the door
Guess I should add a wheelbarrow to my wish list...cause I might just need it.

So what was on that wish list to Santa

Since I know that you are dying to know....

LEGOS
Yes, that is the theme this year.
**Legos- namely the Power Miner series, but who am I kidding. If it has LEGO on the box it's perfect.
Some particular Power Miner items are;

Cave Crusher
Miners Magma Mech
Fire Blaster
Rock Wrecker
Boulder Blaster
Underground Mining Station

Or anything from the Space Police line

**Board Games- they have Candy Land, Chutes and Ladders and Memory.
Santa is bringing Operation and Sorry.

** Toy Story toys- Corbin has been asking for a Buzz Lighter and Woody

**A Star Wars Lightsaber--Red
**Books- Connor is starting to read
